ASSERTIVE CHINA AND THE LAC

Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma(R), Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan and self had a very interesting discussion on Chinese assertion and how they approach the LAC. The interesting issue is that the Chinese have been assertive on the LAC since long and have also been assertive in our neighbourhood. Hence there is a huge direct and indirect component in their assertion. The situation is complex when one considers the inroads they have made into the Indian ecosystem. Further China will do all that is ints power to contain India and ensure that it does not rise. India needs to start tackling China in a multi domain manner. However it will be an incremental and steady process if we stay the course.
