Pakistan’s just been through a rocky general election. Given its fractious politics, it was well known polls couldn’t be free and fair. Yet Pakistan is getting a new elected government, notwithstanding the way Imran Khan and his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were kept out of reckoning, and how results were managed by Pak army and its chief, General Asim Munir. The fresh situation brings Shehbaz Sharif back as PM with Asif Ali Zardari of PPP as future Pakistan president. Given the scenario, here’s some clarity on key issues in focus.
