Different Pages of Pakistan

Lt Gen Ata Hasnain (R) and I had an in-depth discussion on the squabbling politics , declining economy and dissent in the Army in Pakistan. Pakistan will continue to remain unstable is a forgone conclusion. It will remain internalised for some time. However if it degenerates further , then there are chances that it becomes a nesting place once again for movements like Taliban 1.0, Al Qaeda and IS. The spillover of such elements from the ongoing crisis in West Asia into a weakened Pakistan is an eventuality already waiting to happen. That will pose a major problem to India and impinge upon our growth and rise. In the meanwhile India must make use of this window of opportunity to grow strong economically, politically and militarily. It must also keep watch on the different pages of Pakistan as they unfold in front of us.
