Indian War Strategists : Zorawar Singh and Lachit Bhorphukan

Col Channan (R) and I discussed the exploits of two military greats of the yore and what they did against odds. Gen Zorawar Singh carried out a military expedition into Tibet defying the elements of nature and maintained his offensive for well over four years to capture areas up to Skardu and the Western Tibetan Plateau. Gen Lachit Bhorphukan led an army for the Ahom Kings to defeat the Mughals at Saraighat using a combination of guerrilla and conventional tactics which we know now as Hybrid warfare. There is a lot to learn from our past and how these military leaders fought and won in our terrain conditions!
