  • Demand for fact-finding grossly premature

144 veterans have addressed a joint statement to the President, PM, RM, CDS and Chiefs of Services drawing attention to the failure in the political, civil, and military establishments, especially in intelligence acquisition in the ongoing Sino-Indian military situation in eastern Ladakh. They have demanded, that a ‘fact-finding body’ be constituted to go into various issues raised by them.

The Sino Indian military pause is part of a geostrategic continuum. Some domestic and international experts opine that India is cornered and in a pickle. They are as myopic as the PRC planners. Bottom line. It has been China’s choice to come in uninvited. it is India’s choice to let it go back.

Pakistan Army makes hay as long as the sun shines. Over and above its bid for a 20 per cent pay hike, it’s expanding business interests at a hitherto unforeseen scale. Now they are partners in funding the construction of DiamerBhasha Dam project in Gilgit-Baltistan along with a Chinese company. Are there any options left for Pakistan beyond the dark abyss or the unfathomable dungeon. The author gives his assessment of the future Pakistan that we have to contend with.

My thoughts are with Col Santosh Babu and our soldiers who sacrificed themselves for us in Galwan. Their bravery will be an example and inspiration for future generations of Indians.
They have given their today for our tomorrow.

My heart goes to their families and near and dear ones. My salutes to them.

    Editor’s Note
We have already published a fairly large number of articles by the author on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in BharatShakti. in. This article focuses primarily on the cascading effects of the CPEC on Baluchistan. Baluchistan, apparently, will barely have marginal gains while contributing the most among the Pakistani provinces for CPEC. The protests of the locals are already audible and are likely to rise in decibel levels as the project progresses.

Many businesses, large and small, have a huge source of great ideas that can help them improve, innovate, and grow, and yet so many of these companies never think of using this amazing corporate asset. What is this highly valuable asset? Its own people.

Profound myopic vision consistent with its turbulent history has led China to squander a strategic opportunity to achieve global greatness when the Wuhan virus broke. If only they were honest about their “Peaceful Rise” rather than being treacherous, they would have been a superpower by now. So anything long-term about Chinese is a carefully cultivated myth. Their invincibility was brutally exposed by our gallant Biharis, Punabis, Sikhs, Thambis and others in Galwan Valley. The action of our boys shows that a united India can ensure “Chini Kam”.

There is a lot of discussion and action on artificial intelligence and other disruptive technologies and how they will impact warfare. The Chinese White Paper on defence at the very outset mentions that the application of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum information, big data, cloud computing and the Internet of things is gathering pace in the military field. Obviously, they are going to bet big on these subjects.

China’s PLA is not a professional army. It is a uniformed group of thugs which serve the Chinese Communist Party. The premeditated ambush of the braves of 16 Bihar at the Galwan Valley last week was planned to make it appear like a reckless Indian Army action, “valiantly” defended by the innocent Chinese.

China, while seeking global hegemony, must support military expansionism and an aging population, with a contracting economy, in a deglobalising environment of falling exports, withering manufacturing, collapsing BRI and weak internal consumption. It portends an authoritarian China rapidly reverting to revisionism. Simultaneously, the Pakistan Army will continue to own a failed and bankrupt state whose existential identity of “Not Being India” constantly reinforces revisionism.
