    The US Navy’s Seventh Fleet statement of 7 April 2021, after the freedom of navigation operation off Maldives in India’s Exclusive Economic Zone or the EEZ, even if legally valid, and watered down later by the Pentagon Spokesman, was unwarranted and seems indifferent to the sensitive phase in India-US relations.

    Peace eludes Afghanistan, notwithstanding consecutive attempts by the US Presidents to find a trail that could lead to it. President Trump attempted a new approach to ultimately reach an agreement that was worked out between the US and the Taliban, alone. However, the road to peace is yet a long length to traverse.
